Booking projects · Q3 2026

We build technology around your people — not instead of them.

We build the software that takes it off their plate — from a website that takes orders and payments directly, to AI agents that answer the phone, read the paperwork, and run the repetitive jobs on their own. Real, working software we build and operate, with a person in the loop wherever money or trust is on the line.

01

What we do

Start with a website. Grow into an AI operation.

Two things, one team, same stack. A website that does real work on day one — and the AI agents that quietly take over the repetitive jobs as you’re ready for them.

Start here

Custom Interfaces & Systems Integration

A website that takes the order — wired into the systems you already run.

A brochure site just sits there. We build the site that takes the order, takes the payment, and pushes it straight into the tools you already use — Square, your POS, your database — so the front of your business and the back office finally talk to each other.

  • React 19 & TypeScript user interfaces
  • Stateless, high-concurrency API backends
  • Relational database design & query tuning
  • Secure API integration (Stripe, Workday, etc.)
  • Edge-first hosting & sub-100ms loads
  • Complete architectural handoff & docs

Where the leverage is

Applied AI & Intelligent Automation

Agents that answer the phone, read the paperwork, and run the repetitive jobs.

This is where most of the savings are. We build AI agents that handle the work your team is buried in — answering calls, pulling numbers out of PDFs, watching for the opening that vanishes in minutes — and hand off to a person the moment judgment, money, or safety is involved.

  • Intelligent data parsing & extraction pipelines
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) server development
  • Agent state machines (planning & self-correction)
  • Deterministic validation wrappers (Zod, Pydantic)
  • Human-in-the-loop (HITL) approval gates
  • Latency & cost optimization (prompt caching)

HITL approval framework
Human-in-the-loop gates for any automation touching money, data, or customers.
Agent state-machine pattern
Planning and self-correction logic for multi-step agent workflows.
Deterministic validation layer
Zod/Pydantic wrappers that keep model output contract-safe before it acts.

Where it pays

Three industries. One question: does it pay for itself?

These aren’t finished client projects — they’re the problems we hear again and again in three industries, and what the website-and-agents approach above actually does about them.

Restaurant &
multi-location food service

Illustrative Scenario

An ordering agent that closes the loop — and knows when to hand off.

A conversational agent takes the order by phone, drive-thru mic, or chat, confirms it against the live menu and today’s inventory, and sends it straight to the kitchen display and payment system. The design isn’t “the AI handles everything”, it’s a deterministic escalation path: an allergen question, an unusual substitution, or a frustrated customer routes to a person immediately.

The math ↳

The AI drive-thru failures that made headlines tried to handle every case themselves. Automating the routine orders and escalating the rest keeps the labor savings real — without ever shipping an order nobody asked for.

Commercial
real estate

Illustrative Scenario

Turning weeks of lease abstraction into a same-day review.

Every lease, amendment, and estoppel sits in a PDF someone has to read line by line to find the rent escalation, the renewal window, the CAM reconciliation clause. An agent-based abstraction pipeline extracts key terms into structured data, flags anything ambiguous for a human reviewer, and surfaces upcoming deadlines before they're missed.

The math ↳

A missed renewal-notice date can cost more in lost leverage than a year of the system that would have caught it.

Investment
management

Illustrative Scenario

Getting through the filing before the market moves on it.

Analysts spend hours pulling the same handful of numbers out of 10-Ks, earnings transcripts, and portfolio reports before the actual analysis can start. A validation-first extraction pipeline pulls the structured metrics, checks them against source, and hands the analyst a reviewed summary instead of a stack of PDFs.

The math ↳

Hours reclaimed per filing add up across a portfolio faster than the system costs to run — and deterministic validation means no one's trusting a hallucinated number in a memo.

These scenarios are illustrative: built from the same patterns above, not completed client engagements.

Smash Bacon homepage hero, a smash-burger restaurant website with online pickup ordering
Muelle 8 Seafood homepage, a Baja-inspired seafood restaurant website with online catering and pickup ordering

Smash Bacon · Muelle 8 Seafood — Live · Square + Voice AI

A phone line that stops missing orders, and a checkout that skips the delivery-app cut.

The problem: two National City restaurants under one owner, a burger spot and a seafood counter, were losing orders to missed calls during rushes and giving up 20 to 30 percent of every delivery-app order in commission. The system: complete rebuilds of both sites, structured to be found and read correctly by AI search and shopping agents, not just Google.

The order layer: both sites connect directly to Square for pickup orders, so a customer can order and pay without a third-party app in between. The phone layer: a Voice AI line now answers the calls the team couldn't get to, takes the order, and pushes it straight into the POS.

Appt Helper live dashboard showing Global Entry and SENTRI appointment slots being claimed in real time
Open Cita live dashboard, the Spanish-language version of Appt Helper, showing appointment slots being claimed

Appt Helper · Open Cita — Live · MCP + x402

An agent-native alert engine, catching government slots that vanish in minutes.

The problem: Global Entry & SENTRI cancellations disappear within minutes, and no official alert exists. The system: an automated pipeline watches all 184 U.S. enrollment centers 24/7, detects an opening the moment it appears, and fires an SMS seconds later — cutting a 4-to-11-month wait to days.

The agent layer: it exposes an MCP server so AI agents can query live availability as a tool, and accepts autonomous, pay-per-use payments over Coinbase’s x402 protocol. That's agent-native infrastructure, not just a website.

TypeScript · Next.js · Postgres · Twilio · MCP · x402 (Coinbase)

In the lab: Border Bills (cross-border utility payments) and Baja Care (medical-tourism discovery & intake), in active development on the same stack.

About

A small team of builders, led by an engineer who’s been on both sides of the table.

Technology Consultants was founded by Roberto Guido, an electrical engineer (UC San Diego) with an MBA from NYU Stern who’s spent his career bridging the gap between what’s technically possible and what actually moves a business. He leads a focused team of senior engineers and designers who’ve shipped products together for years.

That bridge runs in both directions: hardware and software design work on the voice AI system at Encounter AI — a drive-thru and kiosk ordering platform backed by investors including Morgan Stanley Inclusive Ventures Lab — and a 2024 residency in Colorwave’s Technical Residency in AI or Cybersecurity (TRAC), a competitive fellowship accepting roughly 10% of applicants.

We started by building our own products — Appt Helper, Open Cita, Border Bills, and Baja Care — to prove the architecture, the team, and the operating model before selling any of it to clients. You can go use two of them right now.

That portfolio is now the foundation of our consulting practice: every recommendation has been tested against real users and real edge cases, not just slide decks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical engagement model?

Most projects run through productized packages or monthly retainers — Found & Ordered, Never Miss a Call, Paperwork Autopilot, Enterprise & Multi-Site Systems, and Fractional CTO & Staff Coaching — each tailored to your team's needs. For organizations wanting senior technical direction or developer mentorship, our fractional CTO retainer provides direct access. See packages & pricing for details.

Do you advertise pricing?

Yes, for our website package — Found & Ordered starts at a published flat price, so you know what you're getting before we ever talk. More custom work like Voice AI, document automation, and multi-site systems varies too much by scope to price sight-unseen, so those get an individual quote.

What is your standard technology stack?

React and TypeScript on the front-end, Node.js on the back-end, and PostgreSQL for databases. Our AI work leverages Claude, OpenAI, and custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.

How is technical handoff managed?

We deliver fully documented git repositories and assist with cloud deployment. Your internal team can take over immediately, or we can continue running and monitoring the setup under a retainer.

Where are you based?

San Diego, California, working with clients globally across the United States and Mexican cross-border markets.
